I have just recently started a new project at home: every day one fo my kids (11, 10 & 5) cooks a meal from scratch.All on their own - except the little one who is just 5, so he can't really do part of it...but I am there to help him.
Since I work full time, this simple action is helping me very much, and I'm more available to give them attention because I'm not stressed that I have to cook dinner...
