I did a first aid course a few months ago and found the course itself very fun. I feel good about being able to perform basic first aid and sometimes secretly wish that people around me so I could perform first aid on them :)This cropped up in discussion the other day (we were talking about which songs to sing while doing CPR, you'll know what I mean if you've done a course!) and I managed to convince a few of my friends to give it a go and they are now going to sign up for a course over the holidays. 04 July 2010, 12:37

So, I've been there and doing it.

At my school everyone has the chance to get a HeartStart qualification. This basically was what to do if someone is unconsious, and CPR. I also spent my own time with my mum learning about all sorts of other things as she was a nurse and a St. Johns Amblluance instructor. It's good to knwo that you'd know what to do in a situation, and that your school friend do to, if ever (god forbid) that it was you who was in that situation. 28 October 2009, 14:45Done This....

Because i attend the army cadets, first aid is learned through different mnemonics. one very useful one is DR ABC which is for CPR. D - Danger: check for any immediate danger R - Response: Is the casualty responding to you? A - Airways: Open the casualty's airways B - Breathing: Are they breathing? C - CPR: If none of the above, start CPR. 22 September 2009, 19:45--
