Action updated!
Some things work better when you do them with lots and lots of people- Mexican waves, football matches, parties.
You could try a communal story. Take a piece of paper. Write 'Once there was' at the top. Add three words and pass it onto someone new. The more people you get involved, the better the story gets. Alternatively see how many people you can fit in a Mini. We personally have seen 12.

7 colective stories at the same time
After a nice dinner, with 6 friends i distributed 6 sheets of paper and everyone started a story. Rules: writing 3 lines and passing it over, with only one word disclousured for the next writer. The result was six Exquisite Corpses, very creative, weird and funny. 14 July 2010, 16:33The blue pig
My story is about a blue pig that sat on a pile of mouldy stuff and how his day went. Me and my sister wrote the story together and it is very funny. 05 July 2010, 19:00INVOLVE EVERYONE PLEASE!!!!!
In primary school everyone was my friend and eveyone was involved apart from one person. He was always on his own until i thought to myself why is everyone involved apart from him. So I invited to our game of tig and it turned out he was the best and from that day forth all my mates have involved everyone even if they are not their friend.jijijji

this is a must
im very good at making sure no one feels left out...when bringing up a subject i make sure i bring up a topic that evryone can relate to such as nagging parents everyone can relate to that, and if im sitting in the middle and talking, i sit facing frontwards not turning my back to anyone because that looks like dont want to talk to them. 01 February 2010, 23:05Start a creative blog
I started a blog in Sweden called "365 things you can do" and after a couple of weeks lots of people started their own blogs. They wrote about all the stuff that you can do in their hometowns, created flash mobs, made gerilla knitting and so on.Our World Day at HCC
One World’ Cross Curricular Day - Year 7This exciting and informative cross curricular day began in the theatre with a film called Pay it Forward, which deals with the theme of goodwill and shows how one small positive individual action can change the world for the better.
Using themes from this film as a springboard, we spent the next three hours with different activities. We each cut out our own cardboard brick. On this brick, we wrote down an idea that would help change the world. Collectively, we made a brilliant ‘Wall of Change’ showcasing changes we’d like to make ourselves.
Following this, we discussed ideas in groups about how we could make a difference during tutor time, on the VLE and on the ‘We are what we do’ website. We all signed up to some of the important websites for this year, such as www.samlearning.com, www.hamptonlearning.com and the HCC VLE’s Discussion Zone for year 7. Three groups went on to present ideas to a ‘Dragon’s Den’ style panel (Mr Molin, Miss Stanbridge and Mrs Dyett)
Some of our ideas included:
• A club after school where students prepare for the ‘We are what we do’ website
• Making the school website more colourful and efficient with chat rooms
• Fun tutor activities and competitions
• ‘Kindness cards’ given out to peers who are nice
• Creating a fact file on a fellow year 7 student we hadn’t spoken to before
• Recycling bins in the corridors and canteen
• A “Kindness group” to monitor kindness within year 7.
We also had the opportunity to wrap presents for elderly people in the local community and for those in poorer countries around the world. This was fun and challenging because we had to cover the inside and the outside of the boxes. Some of us also wrote Christmas wishes to a Colombian school.
Lastly, we put some of our ideas about taking care of the environment into practice by litter picking in the local area.
Overall, we had lots of fun thinking of ‘One world’ and the changes we can each make in little steps.
Article collaboratively written by Stephanie Martin, Sean Chapman, Gomal Sritharrathasan, Keenan Atkins, Leanne Lock, Samuel Badgery, Jack Pannett, Veeraj Vadgama, Miss Stanbridge and Mr Molin.
Here are some thoughts on our day:
‘Today was all about making a change to our community’ – Maten Reimi
‘Today we learnt a lot about what we can do as a group, and as individuals’ - Sara Haro-Munoz.
‘I enjoyed today, the point of helping the world and making a difference would help people realise the actual fact of what we’re doing. We learned this by doing activities. We worked in groups and were asked questions and then we had to present it to the teachers’ - Samuel Badgery
‘I learnt good team work skills and I wish we had more days like this’ – Ryan Austin
‘It was fun when I went litter picking because we went outside’ – Henry Mintern
‘I enjoyed today because we were wrapping up food into boxes for people in need and we will send them to charity’ – Veeraj Vadgama
‘The film Pay it Forward was quite good. The teacher in the film was really funny and it would be fun to have a teacher that treated you like that’ – Stephanie Martin
‘I enjoyed today because I worked in group to wrap a present with my best friends’ – Leanne Lock
‘I enjoyed doing the Dragon’s Den in front of Mr Molin and Miss Stanbridge, also I enjoyed watching Pay it Forward’ –Charlie Booker
‘I have been researching the ‘World Kindness Movement’, which is a programme that is trying to help the world become a kinder place using countries coming together as one’ - Suzie Burley `

We worked on this story in our adult literacy class at Canterbury College and included everyone's ideas...Once there was a tall man named Jim who sat on a bench. He was a professional footballer who was addicted to drugs. He was an alcoholic. He was a single and selfish man and very alone. He became diabetic and had both his legs amputed. His life was over. 19 October 2009, 12:59

Once there was an evil witch who ate children for breakfast every day.but she didnt just get them like that! she was a very clever witch in fact. this is what she did she would creep up to a house that had children in and had its window open and creep up on a child and bite them on the bum!!! and if they were all bony and dry she would leave them but if they were tasty and plump she would gobble them up just before you could say I. but one day a very brave girl called Alice came to the witches door and the witch said I smell something tasty then she opened the door first she got a shock because Alice had button eyes! but the witch crept over but then Alice said stop there and the witch stopped then Alice said I am going to teach you a lesson and for days and days she tort the witch and then the witch became good and became a musishion and was very nice to children

Seniors Boosting Seniors
I live in a senior community. Some feel they were dropped off to live here because they were only in the way. Their kids come once a month when they get their check. I'd like suggestions on actions to boost their self esteem and give them the drive to do or say things to give their neighbors and friends a feeling of self worth. Can you help? 15 July 2009, 13:16
Pass it on!
Tell someone about our earth, about Global Warming, polution, endangered species and all the good stuff too. We may just be kids, but we can still make a difference! 04 January 2009, 09:50Action128: Involve Everyone
I started the story on my blogspot account, then posted bulletins and emailed my firends asking them to comment! http://mysteriouslyuseless.blogspot.com/ 23 November 2008, 21:27The Hero
The year was 2081, and there was an ugly person who smelt bad. He was plump, he wanted to take a shower but there was no more water because people had wasted it all. What could he do? there was no more water left, and he smelt like poo. He went down his street and couldn't believe what he saw.He saw horrible looking creatures that were his neighbours. "Something must be done" he said to himself. He went down to a nearby river and he saw that it was empty. Quickly, he ran back to his neighbours house and saw that they had fairy liquid. He had seen dark clouds when running back, so it was a sign that it was about to rain. He told all of the people down his street to come with him. "What's he up to?" they were all wondering. He lead them all down to the river in the pouring rain. It was raining so hard that te river was filling up quickly. Soon everyone in town saw what he was trying to do. With the fairy liquid in his hands, the man drizzled it all around the river, and with the rain and the lovely sunshine nearby, the river soon looked warm and clean. Suddenly, everyone bathed again and the man was a hero! everyone cheered him on whilst they were turning back into their beautiful, usual selves and a rainbow was glimmering above. And from then on everyone went to the river to bathe. So think about how that must have happened! could YOU have wasted water? 29 October 2008, 17:38
